Check out below the exclusive interview with Shanahan, another talent with great remarks.

Q1. We heard your new track “Wasting Time” is stored on 16th of December. Can you tell us more about your new track?

Wasting Time is a project I wrote together with the beautiful and talented Ruby Prophet. I started this record 2 years ago as an instrumental that I felt needed a lift with a solid top line vocal. Once I sent over the idea to Enhanced's A&R Will Holland, we both felt Ruby Prophet would be a fit for the track. Once the vocals came over I was so pleased & excited with the outcome. The project basically took full shape once Ruby was brought on to write a memorable top line. Overall this turned out to be one of my favorite records i’ve written in years!

Q2. How was this year? What was the best experience of 2016?

This year has been filled with so much memorable moments in which I am so grateful for. Aside from putting out an array of records and working with amazing artists such as Tritonal, I really think 2016 has been my favorite year as an Artist. Most of all, being on tour with Tritonal on a few of there Painting With Dreams tour dates. It was a memorable experience to say the least, a true blessing to party with all the Enhanced fans.

Q3. How do you get the inspiration from when producing music?

There’s always several different approaches I take on writing music. It mostly all depends on the day, the vibe, the moods and the overall feeling you have that day in your gut. Sometimes I will write really dark bass lines and heavy distorted low end tracks, simply because its raining outside! Other days I sit there on the piano or guitar and just write chord progressions with nothing else going on, just to simply see if a vibe comes out of the blue, you know? I’m one of those odd ball producers that doesn’t listen to too much music, a lot of artists call me crazy for that one! I really try to not listen to a lot of music because sometimes that sways you as a producer to try and sound like those songs or artists. I really believe in producing and creating records all from within your self and not really finding too much inspiration or persuasion from others music. I’ve always been a firm believer in no genre boundaries, just write what you want, when you want!

Q4. What do you personally consider to be the most important moments in your artistic career?

I’ve been producing for about 16 years now - But there was one year that I really felt a turning point in my career. That was in 2011 when I got pulled into Hardwells label, Revealed Recordings. I wrote a record called, “Passion” with Sebastien Lintz, which ended up getting remixed and edited by Hardwell for the official release. This really was a blessing to get my name out there and I had to start following up with big records once this exposure from Revealed started to take shape. Once 2011-2013 started moving forward I got in touch with Enhanced and started to team up on releases to really start to build the Shanahan brand. Tritonal & Enhanced started to help out and really give me a platform to express my records, I am super thankful of that.

Q5. Where do you see yourself and your music in a few years from now?

I want to continue to put out the records I believe work well on the dance floor and the radio. Continue to work and develop my craft is going to be an on going thing forever, no one is perfect. I plan to collaborate with artists and create records that help continue to develop and evolve the dance community. Most of all I plan to stay true to the music I love and never to follow a trend or genre that seems to be popular at the moment.

Q6. Do you have any specific plans for 2017? Any New Year resolutions?

Yes, one of them being to stop being so critical. I need to sometimes step back and just have fun, you know? Sometimes being in the studio for 8-12 hours a day for about 5 days a week, you sometimes start to lose vision on what this is all about. I really want to make it a priority to push a bit harder, but have a bigger smile on my face this year and just have fun while writing records!

Q7. Please leave a message for your fans in Japan.

If you have a dream and or passion, go make it happen! Don’t let any guardian or outside opinion(s) get in your way!
