DJ MAG TOP 100 CLUBS 2018 was announced just a few weeks back and the Brazilian superclub Green Valley has come out on top of this year’s poll yet again reclaiming their No.1 position just like in 2013 and 2015. The time has come again to announce BEST OF JAPAN 2018, the poll for Japanese clubs. Clubs have promoted their brand during the global voting period and has gathered their votes from Japanese clubbers and fans allowing us to announce the domestic ranking.

No.1 ― WOMB(UP 1)

 

Year 2000, ever since their opening in middle of Tokyo’s youth culture Shibuya, Tokyo WOMB has continuously lead the electronic music culture as well as stepping out into the Western world, the party island Ibiza, Spain or London, UK to host their original experience “WOMB TOKYO NIGHT” in one and only Space Ibiza and Fabric. WOMB continues to receive great support from their clubbers and fans and it only gets better from here. Congratulations, WOMB!

No.2 ― CAMELOT(UP 4) 

 

Since its opening in 1995, Shibuya’s one of biggest clubs, CLUB CAMELOT never stopped to make the crowd go wild with their perfect sound system and extra lightings that triggers great clubbers to party every weekend. The 2 floor setting creates a place where fans with different tastes can dance to from the main stage EDM to sub stages Hip-Hop, R&B or House. The atmosphere is never better elsewhere.

No.3 ― V2 TOKYO(UP 4)

 

The club V2 TOKYO stands for “Vertex²” implicating that they vision to become the the top of the club scene as they are centred in Tokyo’s party city Roppongi. With the support of many top artists and DJ/Producers, they continue to serve top class events every weekend. Located on the 13th floor with 360 degrees panorama view of Tokyo is a whole new experience with great music.

No.4 ― ELE TOKYO(DOWN 1)

 

Since its opening in August 2014, the urban luxurious space provides a high end entertainment in the Japanese scene. Despite the rank down from last year’s poll, they continue to level up their brand image with new interior designs to create better and stimulating experience until next morning. The projection mapping and new LED screens create a thrilling experience not just through music but with notable interiors. VIPs and celebrities are often seen dancing is also recognised for hosting Lady Gaga’s after party.

No.5 ― KING XMHU(DOWN 1) 

 

KING XMHU is the first of its kind in Japan to create a festival like experience in a club. The newly updated floor in  the shape of “8” allows clubbers to move smoothly into their destination to party harder. KING XMHU may be located in the North with very snowy winters but it definitely is one of the hottest clubs here.

No.6 ― Riviera Sapporo(UP 2)

 

The biggest in Hokkaido, North of Japan the sound club Riviera Sapporo targets to create a place where clubbers can easily come and have fun and to guide clubbing into a Northern culture. The perfect location in centre of Sapporo is definitely one of the strengths to attract hundreds of people every weekend. Not to mention, their events with special guests from the West is what attracts their fans but their usual events with resident DJs are also what excites their clubbers.

It is a midnight wonderland once you step into the doors of internationally recognised club, ageHa. They continue to rank in on DJ MAG TOP 100 CLUBS poll year after year with their outstanding sound and lighting system that allows world-class shows to be done by top DJ/Producers. The biggest club in Japan has hosted countless top shows with the biggest crowd for a club allowing them to continuously try new types of entertainment to stimulate their fans. No wonder we see ageHa in this BEST OF JAPAN 2018 poll.

No.9 ― CIRCUS Tokyo (NEW ENTRY)

 

 

A new entry club CIRCUS Tokyo offers underground genres and is slowly but definitely expanding their fan base. House, Techno, Dubstep, Drum N Bass or other underground genres are slowly getting more attention. Top DJ/Producers are seen performing at CIRCUS Tokyo as well as the resident DJs never fails to keep the crowd going.

No.10 ― Contact(NEW ENTRY) 

 

April, 2016 a new music bar/club opened on the same street as SOUND MUSEUM VISION but under a parking lot in Shibuya called Contact. If you are not aware of the place, then it might look like hundreds of people are going into a parking lot to get their cars out but none are coming out until the morning. A foreign looking interiors takes you to a place out of Tokyo with great Techno or House music played throughout the weekends. Interestingly, it is a membership club and all clubbers must sign up on the Website before getting lost in the underground scene.
