Is he going to join the TOP 100 DJs this year? BOBBY ROCK, a Rotterdam based DJ/Producer should have the potential to slide in there… Last year he performed in front of the Japanese crowds since his debut EP in 2013, he continues to grow and expand into other parts around the world performing exciting shows. Not to mention that he was the winner of “WMC Blitz Chart 2016”. “Move On” is the new release from BOBBY ROCK!

Q1. Congratulations on your "Move On" release. Can you tell us more about it?

Thanks! It’s been released on Bang IT! By Housesession. Originally this track was a remix for a track I did for D-Wayne. They weren’t sure if this was the style they were looking for in the remix pack so they passed it!
Because of the great feedback by the crowd when I played it, we decided to release it as an original. Unfortunately no remix for D-Wayne at that time, but we have a release together now on Future House Music called Getaway. Which is even cooler off course!

Q2. How has your Summer been so far?

Stressy! But in a good way haha! Just extremely busy with all the deadlines we have at the moment. Thanks to the rainy summers in Holland its not too hard…Perfect studio weather :p. Decided to switch my sound about 6 months ago and aim more to the future house/bass kinda vibe and that worked out very well!
Received so much support on my first release in this style, ‘You Know You Like It’ and created many great opportunities because of this switch.
Some great labels have shown their interest now and lots of collaborations are on its way with artists I admire!
D-Wayne like I said already, but also working with Vato Gonzalez, Lucky Charmes and one more I can’t tell for now, but I Know You will Like It! ;)

Q3. Can you pick 1 or 2 must plays in your sets and why?

(1) D-Wayne & Bobby Rock – Getaway.
Because it’s the greatest track I have ever heard! These producers must be extremely good in what they do! Hahaha!  It’s hard to be objective when its your own track :p. Let me try… This track is supported already by artists like Brooks, Mike Williams, Blasterjax, Tiesto & Max Vangelli and just out and rising. Brooks even told me in person that Martin Garrix loves it! The feedback I get from those guys is that they love the energy which it has in the drop. I agree on 100%!
Next to that I think It’s not to hard, but also not to soft for the dance floor. So when you play this song, you see people smiling and dancing at the same time.

(2) Stadiumx Feat. BISHØP - The Fall.

I know those guys for 4 years now as we released both songs on Protocol Recording by Nicky Romero. I really like their way of producing. It’s always fresh, special and sounds sick! What I like about it, the combination of Future House/Bass but it still has that energetic progressive influence. Perfect for main-stage festival stages!

Q4. Do you have any performance routines?
I have some trademark Bobby Rock Moves I feel comfortable with haha! I really like to go with the energy flow the audience can have. So if they go crazy I’ll join them! And in Japan that’s not a problem at all! Next to that I like to jump into the audience once I have finished my set and party with them. If I have time for that ofcourse! I don’t like sitting in VIP rooms and doing boring stuff!

Q5. Can you pick 1 or 2 of your favourite dance artists at the moment?

1. Brooks. We both release songs on Future House Music and last year he made this trademark Brooks sound what is awesome!
All producers out here know how difficult it is to make your own sound. The sound people know it’s yours once they hear it on a festival. Big respect for that!

2. Don Diablo. No explanation needed! This is the biggest artist for me at the moment. He has his own sound, is such a cool guy and like his total appearances. He is a brand now. An Hexagonian. The way he dress, how he acts and how he performes. Really look up to this guy! Would be a dream to work together one day!

Q6. Are there any artists in particular you would love to collab with next time?
Don Diablo for sure! And with Afrojack, we used to be on the same high school when we were young. Great to see what he has reached over all those years. He is a super star!

Q7. Since you have already visited in Japan, what was the most impressive thing in your stay?
It’s hard to name one thing I liked, cause I really liked everything.
The culture, the food and the way people have respect for each other and how mental you can go in your nightlife! Didn’t expect that people in Japan could party like that! Really dedicated dance fans! Tokyo is amazing! Ah I can name one thing that really surprised me! I was walking in Tokyo city centre and I heard people cheering and some noisy engine sounds coming my way. So I stepped aside and made some room and suddenly like ten go karts were passing me. When they were passing I had a close look and I saw they were dressed like Mario & Luigi. MARIO KART IN REAL LIFE! I used to play this game every day when I was a kid and in Holland this would never be approved to do this on the streets. Haha! Love it! And this is what I really like about Japan. Everything is possible!

Q8. Please leave a message for your fans in Japan.
また近いうちに会おう! (Should say: See you all in the future again! ;-) SAIKOOOOO
