Pep & Rash are another new comer Dutch Duo in the scene who we recently hear their names especially due to the constant support they receive from the top Dutch DJ/Producers such as Martin Garrix and Hardwell. In 2015, they collaborated with Sander Van Doorn on “White Rabbit” and also with Shermanology on “Sugar”, producing tracks with world class DJ/Producers and it still continues today. They talked about their new track “The Stars Are Mine”, their favourite clubs and many more.
Q1. We heard your new track “The Stars Are Mine”. Can you tell us more about it?
We made this track in Chocolate's Puma studio. Gaston (from CP) started making some drum grooves and I (Pep) made chords on my laptop. I hummed a melody and CP told me to record that as a vocal line. Rene wrote the lyrics on the melody I hummed. It's the first track with my own voice in it haha!
Q2. How did you decide to work with Chocolate Puma? How was it?
CP are legends for us! They're in the game for such a respectable long time! We saw them a lot on several gigs so we became buddies. We love their sound so we really wanted to work with them. We have a perfect workflow together!
Q3. What do you personally consider to be the most important moments in your artistic career?
After 'Rumors' was released, everything changed for us. It really pushed our name in the scene and we got booked all around the world.
Q4. Do you have some routines before gig?
We do some drinks and eat something, that's it haha!
Q5. Since DJ Mag started to vote "Top 100 Clubs", I want to ask you what are your favorite clubs and why?
Bootshaus in Cologne, Germany and Opium in Barcelona, Spain. Both great sound systems and a very energetic crowd!
Q6. What do you have coming up next?
China, Beijing end of February.
Q7. What is DJ Mag to you as a DJ and producer?
Everyone in the scene knows DJ Mag so it's definitely a big thing for us!
Q8. Please leave a message for your fans in Japan.
We love you guys and we hope to play in Japan soon, so we can bring you some good P&R music! :-)
