Plastik Funk made a great start showing himself in the scene with the collab track “Who!” with Tujamo. The track has been played on Youtube for over 2.6 million times and big players like Tiesto and Steve Angello have given them the support to raise their brand awareness. Plastik Funk, a duo seems to be frequently seen in top of Beatport’s dance chart and they have recently released a new track “Sunrise” on January 9th. Stay tuned to their updates and their upcoming events for 2017.

Q1. We heard your new track “Sunrise” is stored on Jan 9th. Can you tell us more about your new track?

Yes we are more than happy to have the release of the extended mix in January as the DJ feedback is just crazy. When we received the vocals of Katt Rose, we went to the studio right away and started working on the track. The vocals are beautiful and give exactly the feeling we try to give people with our music: It’s 100% pure Bliss House music! We released a club mix of ‘Sunrise’ in December and the list of big names playing the track is not ending…. Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, David Guetta, Martin Garrix, Chuckie and many many more! Now it’s time for the extended and the radio mix to go live.

Q2. How was last year? What is your resolution for 2017?

We had an amazing year with more shows then ever before. We played all over the world and some of the most important venues and festivals. So we can’t wait what 2017 has in store for us! We signed a label deal with Armada Music in the beginning of 2016, which is one of biggest dance labels in the world right now and it feels like home working with that amazing team, which we have there. The plan is to release a lot of music with Armada in 2017 and show the world our understanding of house music, we call it BLISSHOUSE. We want to stay healthy and play all over the world again. We already confirmed a Ibiza residency at Privilege (the biggest club in the world) and already got booked to more than 35 Festivals all over the globe. Tours in Asia, USA, Brasil, Mexico and all over Europe are already on the schedule as well.

Q3. How did you decide to work together?

We met in a club a long time ago, both booked at the same party, and realized we have the exact same taste of music, so it was worth a try to DJ together. We really loved it, so Plastik Funk was born.

Q4. How do you get the inspiration from when producing music?

We get inspired by a lot of artists from back in the days and from all kind of music genres. The best tracks we did were always inspired by music and artists from totally different music styles :) The best for us is to listen to old records/vinyl’s sometimes. It always gives you so many ideas for new music.

Q5. Who or what is the most musically influenced to you? If so, why is that?

We got influenced a lot by the heroes and kings of House music. There is Franky Knuckeles, David Morales and our buddy Roger Sanchez, also the queen Barabara Tucker!! On the DJ side we always loved the skills of some hip hop artists like DJ AM or people like A-Track, who is an amazing DJ, also a really good producer. You can’t put him in a genre, he is just doing what he likes. We love that!!

Q6. What’s coming up next for you in the early 2017?

After the release of „Sunrise“ we are releasing a collab with Sagan from Ukraine. He just released 3 huge tracks on Don Diablo’s label Hexagon and he will blow up this year for sure! The collab is super strong and we can’t wait to release it. We also just finished a new solo track with a beautiful vocal and we are about to finish our collab with the amazing producers Inpetto. In the meantime we are releasing a remix for ‘All Around the World Records (UK)’, which was already supported by Tiesto, Lost Frequencies and many more.

Q7. What is DJ Mag to you as a DJ and producer?

Its the bible for producers and clubbers. Always great to see what’s happening in the scene, and always a pleasure to talk to you guys!

Q8. Please leave a message for your fans in Japan.

JAPAN, we can’t wait to be back in your beautiful country. Last time we played Japan was in Osaka and it was absolutely amazing! Follow us on our socials and see you very very soon!
