Speaking of melodious Big room house, TOP 100 DJs #36 Ummet Ozcan would be the first and foremost. From his interview with TOP 100 DJs in 2015, he responded to us as "2016 will be not only DJing, also want to spend more time in the studio" Now he actually came back to us with his new release. DJ Mag Japan is honored to have an interview with Ummet Ozcan on his new release "Megatron" and an interesting new music video.

DJMagWe want to hear more about your recent release “Megatron”. How did you get the inspiration?

Ummet OzcanI like boombastic, almost anthem like melodies a lot, and for Megatron I wanted to write something like that. I think it turned out very well because they respond like crazy when I play it.

DJMag: You always have interesting music videos and this time “Megatron”s official music video has a cute little robot character. How closely do you involve this creation and where did you get the idea?

Ummet Ozcan: Mostly I am involved in the basic idea of the video. It’s really fun to come up with a small storyline and try to work that out to a complete music video. We’ve tried all kinds of robot’s but this one had an ‘underdog’ kind of expression which we instantly loved.

DJMag: What’s keeping you busy this summer? Can you tell us your upcoming tours and new tracks you’re working recently?

Ummet Ozcan: Summer is always crazy! It is the most busy time because of the festivals. I still have to go Scandinavia, Ibiza, Greece, the UK, USA and many more places. Regarding my music I am working on a few new Ozcan tracks. So there is definitely some great stuff coming up! Can’t wait to play it.

DJMag: Who or what is the most musically influenced to you?

Ummet Ozcan: I listen a lot to various styles of music. Not only dance music but also ambient or guitar stuff.. I guess that on a subconscious level I pick up elements from it, but there is no influential artist in particular.

DJMag: TOP100DJs voting started in Japan from this year. Would you like to leave a message for your fans and voters in Japan?

Ummet Ozcan: I have been in Japan numerous times now and I always feel very ‘at home’ and welcomed. I’ve got some good memories to my shows and fans over there, so I hope to be back soon and meet up with you!

DJMag: Please leave a message to Japanese audience.

Ummet Ozcan: またね!! (See you!!)
