Q1. Please talk to us about your latest release and the inspiration behind it.

“Black and Blue” is my debut release on HARDWELL’s new label GEMSTONE. I’ve been working on this track for over a year, and I am very excited to see it release finally.

The track features the incredible vocals of BABET, who has worked with popular artists like Jay Hardway, Moti, and Justin Mylo.

At the time when I made the original version of this track, I was looking to do something a bit different than my regular club focused productions. The synth pads and atmospheric effects give the track a dream-like feeling. This vibe inspired BABET to write powerful lyrics, about how we feel bruised after a fight with a loved one.

Q2. How is this track special compared to other tracks you’ve released throughout the career?

"Black & Blue" is my first track with completely original vocals, and I wanted it to be perfect. I am hoping that my followers will also enjoy it the track as much as I enjoyed making it.

Q3. Can you pick 1 or 2 must plays in your recent sets and why?

Two tracks I always play in my sets are my two recent releases on ENHANCED MUSIC, “Higher” and “This Love.” Both of these tracks are super high energy, melodic, and work remarkably well at my Asia shows.

Q4. What was your first impression of Japan? What was the most surprising or impressive experience? Something within your expectation?

I have lived in Tokyo for over ten years, but my initial impression of Tokyo was about how much variety there was in the nightlife scene. There were techno clubs, trance nightclubs, and open format (disco) nightclubs.

Unfortunately, over the years, most of these underground clubs have faded away, but thankfully I am still able to play my Bass and Future House music sound at the casual nightclubs.

Regardless, the city itself is fantastic, and it surprises me every day. It is a testament to how much fun it can be living in such a large metropolis.

Q5. Any exciting new projects coming up that you can share with us?

I have several bass house style productions releasing very soon, all of which have been getting incredible reactions at my shows.

Q6. Please leave a message for your fans in Japan.

Please check my new music out on SPOTIFY, and thanks for your continued support at my shows. Hope to see you all soon!
